I don’t know if it’s because I live in the south, but I adore porches. I sit outside on mine every chance I get and gauge the attractiveness of houses I drive past largely by the design and “livability” of their porch space. Is this a common feeling? I already know I will be that 90-year-old woman (good Lord willing) who rocks in her rocker and knows all the neighborhood gossip because she’s on her stoop all day. And to me there is nothing better in summer than to enjoy your outdoor space with some light apps and a glass of crisp, amazing wine. HEAVEN! And what makes it even better is that these are excellent white wines under $20!
Since this upcoming holiday weekend will no doubt be full of porch, patio, deck and terrace time, I compiled a list of 11 wines that you can be confident to sip or gift at your summer party. My criteria for being on this list: 1) they are delicious, 2) under $20 and many under $15 3) easy to find (so you aren’t searching forever if you decide to try my suggestions) 4) have either high star or Wine Spectator ratings.
11 Delicious White Wines for Summer
1). Ca Momi Bianco Di Napa (blend of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio and Viognier).
2). Mercer Savignon Blanc 2013
3) Conundrum White Blend (a favorite)
4) Chateau Ste Michelle Dry Riesling
8) Oregon Acrobat Pinot Gris (a favorite and a steal at $12.99)
9) La Crema Sonoma Coast Chardonnay (one of my favorites)
10) Simi Sonoma County Chardonnay
11) Chloe Pinot Grigio (pictured on my porch, 1st photo)
Serve all of the above slightly chilled. For a refreshing, calorie-conscious option add sparkling water and a slice of lemon for a spritzer. Please tell me your favorite white wines. I would love to try them. Cheers to a bright and happy summer! xx CC

Another great wine is Brancott Sauvignon Blanc. Around $10 and it’s great. Very strong and crisp grapefruit flavor. One of Rhonda’s favorites

Hi Chels,
Santa Margharita pino Gris is really good too. Runs around $18.00 a bottle.
Also like Jacobs Creek pino Gris over ice in the summer with a few lemon and lime slices. Very refreshing on a hot summer day on a nice porch stoop or patio just about anywhere as my heart is right there with ya rocking away, I think it’s in our blood?.
