We recently decided to do a kitchen refresh before we welcome our baby at the end of September. I’m defining refresh as painting our cabinets, adding new hardware and changing the back splash. So lately I’ve been indulging in my favorite past-time of surfing for design inspiration even more than I currently do (fitting it in before bed while simultaneously trying to read On Becoming Baby Wise for the second time). Lucky for you I’ve curated 7 Interior Design Instagram Accounts to follow so you don’t have to.
Recently I was thinking back to grade school when my friend, Missy Hornak, and I would cut pictures from Home catalogs and glue them onto white poster board–creating wrinkled, one-dimensional dream homes complete with Lebaron convertibles in the sharpie-drawn driveways. We had to work for it back then! We take for granted that now we have endless, curated inspiration…no Elmers required. Below are 7 of the most gorgeous interior design Instagram accounts to follow now for a continuous feed of amazing photos. Most have e-commerce websites, which I also listed, just in case you wanted to shop your favorite photos.
Amber Interiors @amberinteriors
If you are on Pinterest or peruse the power design blogs then no doubt you have seen Amber Lewis’s work. Her before & after projects are crisp, bright and welcoming. And although each is unique, she artfully manages to make each space signature Amber Lewis.
I read the magazine and occasionally shop their store, but their curated images are something I enjoy daily.
If you are into airy, almost ethereal neutral spaces then this So Cal interior designer and blogger is a must follow. She has become one of my favorites and I can’t tell you how many of her images I’ve loved and pinned recently (too many to count).
Caitlin Wilson @caitlinwilsondesign
An interior, textiles, rugs & wallpaper designer whose colorful work you have probably seen laced throughout many of the most photographed west coast homes. Caitlin’s instagram feed is gorgeous and inspiring. Oh…as an aside her kismet rug is on my wishlist.
The ultimate resource for the creative and career driven. Equal parts design, career advice and health tips. I visited for their health and fitness vibe and stayed for the beautiful design elements.
A chic, design-inspired website with insightful editorial including a glimpse inside celebrity homes. This is a gorgeous sister site to Who What Wear and Byrdie. It is one of my favorite daily destinations with good coffee in hand.
She’s a top stylist and the New York Times Bestselling author of STYLED. I fell in love with her when I found her blog three years ago and she and her husband were renovating their kitchen. She used matte, brushed brass for the hardware (before the trend) and I was smitten. Her Instagram is fun and she’s not afraid of color.
