Here are a few dress finds for your next holiday gathering. ‘Tis the season to sparkle–whether it be all over sequins, a hint of fragile black lace or the amazing bodycon LBD that creates head-turning whip lash from all eyes in the room! Make an entrance ladies!
Doing research for this blog was like asking a chocolate addict to do “taste testing research” at the Godiva lab! These are just different finds that I would personally wear and find fabulous. Hell, I even threw in a little color. For those who know me, “color” is “warm grey.” But it’s the holiday season and everything should get more festive.
I wanted to work our way down to the “bling and sparkle” so here are a few fabulous LBD and LGD (little grey dresses)
LBD and LGD
Rag & Bone’s Edita dress in Dark Charcoal is a wear anywhere, classic dress with a punk edge (forwardforward.com).
I love the contrast of this leather sleeve dress in flint grey by Mason by Michelle Mason (shopbop.com). Understated with an edge. This one-shoulder dress features side ruching and the ribbed banding under the leather sleeve makes it comfortable. It’s also not as short as shown. How do I know? Hmmm.
Elizabeth and James Criss-cross back tank dress. This dress has a strikingly simple front with a sexy, sexy back. This is a sultry, streetstyle take on the tank dress and would also be perfect with an oversized blazer (saks.com)
Bird by Juicy Couture’s “Florintine Olivia” dress is minimalist but oozing femininity. I can see Carla Bruni in this (neimanmarcus.com).
Black Halo’s Zsa Zsa Sheath dress in Black/Nude is Hollywood starlet. The cut accentuates in all of the right places. (revolveclothing.com). I also feel the model in this photo needs to eat a sandwich as an fyi. Just imagine it on someone with a sexy hip/waist ratio.
Sparkle and Shine
Winter Kate (Nicole Richie’s new line) “Nicole Dress” (Neimanmarcus.com). Blinging sunset gold, deep cowl back and high neck with a slight shift style and long sleeves. If you have long legs booties would be KILLER. For those of us without mile-long gams I would suggest a closed-toe, simple black platform.
Sheri Bodell makes the list with two of my picks. This one is so demure and snow queen. Crisp white, all over rhinestones, long sleeves and one sexy open back. It’s called the “Gust” dress because it definitely reminds one of a frozen evening gust of freshly fallin snow (shopbop.com):
This Parker multi-color sequin dress in copper is something you can wear beyond the holiday season. The cut gives it a casual, cool feel despite the sparkle (revolveclothing.com).
Colors and Prints
This Asymmetric, one-shouldered dress from Haute Hippie in lipstick red is a goddess! Nude lips and pulled back hair would complete the look since this dress is the focal point (neimanmarcus.com)
Feline Flash. I have even “liked” this dress on facebook. Sheri Bodell’s animal print low-back sheath dress embodies holiday glam. This crew-neck silk-chiffon dress features a sequin leopard pattern. Tie and hidden zip at open back. Long sleeves. Double layered. I am purring….(shopbop.com)
This Gareth Pugh star print dress in black/grey is a “toe-dip” into pattern. The tight, sexy shape makes it the perfect dress to party in (forwardforward.com)
Do you have that amazing holiday party dress you can’t wait to wear? Any sites I should check out to do a little more, um, “research?” Hope your holidays are going well and as always, keep counting!
